Steal of Draft! Michael Buchanan DE/OLB Illinois

A long, lean, fighting machine. I don't know why people don't like this kid. He wasn't as productive his Senior season as he was his Junior season but quite simply the kid can rush the passer. Could probably use another 10 pounds to play ROLB in a 3-4. I feel he could play LOLB in a 3-4 or DE in a 4-3 with his current weight. Has great size 6'5" 3/8 255 with some long arms. 22 reps with 34" arms is pretty good for an OLB in the 3-4. Has good hand fighting and his speed of the edge consistently causes problems for the OT. Not as stoudt as you would like to see in the running game so for him to be an elite player in the 3-4 he needs to add some weight to handle the physicality of the game. Hybrid players are some of the easiest conversions to the NFL because of their ability to rush the passer and they don't have to really learn anything new. Very underrated player in a pretty impressive LB corps. High-low comparison for Buchanan is Aldon Smith and Jason Worilds of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has a high ceiling but could end up just being an average NFL player. Bottom line is he has frame to easily add weight. Worth the gamble, had a DUI, could drop in draft because of that and so so Senior season.

NFL Comparison: Aldon Smith---Jason Worilds (high-low)

FST Grade: Early 3rd rd

Projected Round: Day Three

Player Value: 2.4/3.0

Steal of Draft! Gavin Escobar TE SDSU

Complaints about drops in his career. When I watch this guy he is like a vacuum, he just sucks it right up. Tall, athletic, prototypical build for a tight end. Blocking could use some work and could use some added weight and his frame can handle it without losing any speed. One of the few tight ends in this class that has it "all". Just a true junior so he is still developing into a man, turned 22 in February. Ran an average 40 compared to what I saw on tape. Hopefully he shaves a tenth off his time during his Pro Day March 19th. Had great numbers in the shuttles and his 20 yard shuttle was 4.31 and Dee Milliner's was 4.32 in comparison. Although Milliner's time was average around CB's the point is that a linebacker can't handle his start and stop speed. Escobar is going to be a matchup nightmare. This kid has a HIGH CEILING with minimal bust potential IMO. Some reports have him as the 3rd best TE and some see him as a potential bust that should have returned for his senior season. He was more productive suring his Sophomore season but I displace some of that blame on the QB because some of the balls were high school throws and he will have QB's putting it on the money in the NFL. I think this guy is a 13-14 year guy that can rack up maybe 6 or 7 Pro Bowls.

NFL Comparison: Tony Gonzalez---Rob Gronkowski

FST Grade: Early 2nd round

Projected Round: Late 2nd-3rd

Player Value: 2.6/3.0

Ranking 2013 WR Prospects

1) Cordarrelle Patterson ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx6pGFvDqt0

--- ELECTRIC, playmaking ability is uncanny, a little raw, kinda fights the ball

2) DeAndre Hopkins .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVWm9pNiXYY

--- Best WR ability in this class. Torrey Smith comparison. Nice blend of pass receiving skills and explosion. Not as explosive or dynamic as Patterson

3) Justin Hunter .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFykvxt0Cg8

---Maybe best route runner, GREAT speed for 6'4" guy, good hands

4) Markus Wheaton .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpvB9DsIA0A (kinda long and boring but he's the truth) ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrPsnQWU6kA (short and sweet, fits in with young money crew with excellent $hit talk " come on dog, that's a bad ball, i ate you up. you ain't did nothing" I LOVE IT!!

---Mike Wallace comparison. Could go 1st Rd to SF at #31. Similar build and way he runs to Mike Wallace. Speed is not as elite as Wallace. Better receiving skills than Wallace. Gets his head in blocks on run plays unlike Wallace. Still RAW, currently one of my favorite WR prospects. Good burst, agility, cuts in and out of routes. Somewhere between an AB-Mike Wallace. Ability to take top of coverage

5) Keenan Allen .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sskHoNba-JE

---What he runs will determine how high he goes. Great PURE WR. Good height, hands, speed (i think 4.49-4.52) combo. Not in love with him, like a lot of these guys with potential, low ceiling.

6) Da'Rick Rogers .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BHOXRyDLuw

--- "Red Flags". T.O. comparison but not as elite of speed. Attacks the ball, attacks CBs. Hard to bring down. Possession guy that can bully you with ability to run after catch. Could be your more physical possession guy than a Hines Ward. Good height. Dying to see what he runs the 40.

7) Terrance Williams .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep3ASYyhUB4

---Good height and hands. Goes up and gets the ball. Not a deep threat that will take top of coverage but a deep threat in single and double coverage that will come down with the ball. Somewhat a possession guy, somewhat not. I would call him a much more athletic and faster Marques Colston.

8. Tavon Austin .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Q3UOd9_Tkw

---Good moves, quick feet. Not as smooth at WR as some of these other guys but great playmaking ability.

9) Quinton Patton .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htOC2hKV7iM

---A great 40 is expected. Good height at 6'2" and does everything you want out of a great WR. Catches with his hands, makes plays after the catch. Like the comparison over at NFL.com of Reggie Wayne. Reggie isn't a playmaker per se like a Cordarrelle Patterson but he make plays and that is the same of Patton.

10) Robert Woods .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aLPm38LBwg

---Pretty SOLID #2 WR. Good triangle numbers of height, speed, hands. Runs good routes. I like him getting drafted by like a Carolina, maybe just bc they have drafted a million USC guys and also had Keyshawn Johnson. lol

11) Stedman Bailey .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9i0ZNwUURQ

---Good playmaker but I believe the numbers are the product of the system and giving up 50 pts a game on defense. Pretty good WR, not sure if he can be a #2 WR.

12) Josh Boyce .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tey0mfnNKJI

---People have him WAY DOWN the list in like 4-6th rd but I absolutely love him. Great speed. Great hands. Great routes. Great moves. I guess the knock on him is they view him purely as slot but he might be able to do either. Hell, a #3 WR in day three of the draft sounds great to me.
