Top 10 NFL QB's

1) Peyton Manning ***
2) Tom Brady ***
3) Aaron Rodgers **.83
4) Ben Roethlisberger  **.83
5) Philip Rivers **.75
6) Drew Brees **.75
7) Matt Ryan **.5
8) Michael Vick ***
9) Tony Romo **.5
10) Sam Bradford **.5

Just Missed It
11) Eli Manning **.4
12) Jay Cutler **.4
13) Josh Freeman **.33
14) Matt Schaub **.33

Clueless NASCAR Tim Cowlishaw wrote an article about the top 10 QB's and he had Mark Sanchez and Josh Freeman on the list...there's a reason we don't listen to him when we talk football.  Mike Vick fits the FST criteria as a *** but he is not a top 5 QB...meaning leadership, clutch, good decision-making, winning Super Bowls, etc.  And it looks like the Chargers made the right move in getting rid of Brees b/c Philip Rivers is one notch above him in the rankings..GO CHARGERS GO!!

Pick of the Day: Pam

Pam Anderson is the ultimate FST girl.  She was so amazing in her hey day and I think this pick is pretty amazing.  The tip off is in 11 minutes so I just tried to get this before tipoff.

Super Bowl XLV Keys to Victory-Packers

Defense (is this stating the obvious tho?)

1) Stop the Run!!! Don't let Mendenhall gash your offense for 4-5 a play.  The Steelers are at their best when they can run the ball and run play-action (PA) with Ben; because then he has even more time to make a play when the play breaks down and the Steelers go well there's our offense "BEN MAKE A PLAY"...that is the name of the offense if you didn't get it

2) No Big Plays!!!  I don't think Charles Woodson can hang with @wallace17_dakid so they need to control Mike Wallace and not allow him to make a big play.  The Steelers should counter that by running quick plays that get the ball in Wallace's hands very quickly (such as screen, slant, in, out, curl....aka the Mark Sanchez offense) that give him a chance to make a play with his feet.  Then you run your PA and put a dagger through their throat on a 70+ bomb for TD by Wallace.

3) PRESSURE THE QB!! BJ Raji vs Pouncey or Legurksy....if Pouncey plays (and is healthy) the Steelers win this game because their offense can make plays on the Packers defense and their defense [Steelers] should be able to keep Rodgers in check.  BJ Raji is a force to be reckoned with and if he lines up against Legursky (Pouncey injury) he should kick his ass all day long. Clay Matthews will be ready to play and he needs to reek havoc in that backfield all day long because they not only need to pressure Ben but they needs to bring him down as well.  Clay is one of the say 6/11 players on the defense that can even bring Ben down for a sack....last week Ben had a play where 5 Jets grabbed him and they blew the whistle because his progress was obviously stopped.  He can't get hurt if he doesn't go to the ground!!

Offense

1) Attempt to run the ball.  You will fail but if at first you fail, try, try, again.  They need to run "tricky" runs because dives, off tackle, and sweeps don't work on the Steelers D. Maybe throw the Kuhn a touch here or there.

2) OL Protection. The line needs to play well or they won't win this game.  The Steelers have various blitz schemes and their OL needs to be ready to pick them up.  Aaron Rodgers is a huge help to his OL because he gets the ball out of his hands in 3 seconds or less every time.

3) WR?? Who can make a Play?...I can!!...With Aaron Rodgers this has less of an impact because he finds the open guys and doesn't care who it is.  But I think their receivers are very average at best.  James Jones and Jordy Nelson wouldn't be players on my football team.  Jordy because he is a average white WR. He isn't like Ed Mccaffrey who has hands and is 6'5" or like Wes Welker 5'9" but quick as hell. He's more of a tweener not fast, not overly tall, and is just overall average.  Donald Driver doesn't scare me at all but he will most likely be matched up against William Gay so he could have a chance.  Greg Jennings is pretty good but Ike will be covering him and Ike Taylor could be one of the top 5 fastest corners in the league.

Pick of the Day: Miranda

I've never been completely blown away by Miranda Kerr but she is a victoria secret angel and she is from the breeding grounds of hot chicks...Brazil.  I'm not sure how she will fare tonight because I am going against the Indiana Hoosiers again.  Every time I pick against the Hoosiers they don't have a problem losing the game but they manage to cover every time.  But fuck 'em they stink and the only reason the spread is (-4.5) is because we are playing at Assembly Hall and the oddsmakers respect that hostile environment.  Nevertheless, Illinois is too good of a team to lose to Indiana.  I would say the absolute lock would be Illinois moneyline because Indiana won't win but I like to live dangerously....

Do You Guys Like Sweet Tracks??

oldie....but a goodie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ujKxpAvLKg

First Look at the 2011 NFL Draft QB Class

1) Cam Newton QB **.5
2) Jake Locker QB **.25
3) Ryan Mallett QB **.25
4) Blaine Gabbert QB **
5) Andy Dalton QB *.75

other notables
1) Tyrod Taylor
2) Colin Kaepernick

Usually at least a ** ranking merits a future NFL player and this QB class is only first round heavy and then literally nothing.  The top 4 QB's should go in the 1st round and the QB that is least like the others and doesn't belong is Blaine Gabbert.  I haven't seen a whole lot on Blaine Gabbert so I can't totally trash him but the other 3 QB's seem like legitimate NFL QB's.  It is funny though that Gabbert is receiving the most hype and I feel he has the highest chance to bust out of these top 4 QB's.  Yes I think Jake Locker will be a good QB in the NFL.  He is the perfect QB in a west coast system that requires the QB to move (SF? SEA?).  Mallett is the typical pro-style QB and he might end up having the best career out of this class.  I think the 49ers, Seahawks, and Cardinals could all very well draft QB...although realistically only one or two of those teams will.  IF Andrew Luck had come out this class would have rivaled the 04' class with at least 3 starting QB's but he decided to get an education...idiot.

Pick of the Day: Leeann

She used to be my favorite female reporter.  She is now 37 years old but in her prime I would argue that Leeann Tweeden might have been better than Erin Andrews and all of those other bimbos that we all know and love.  Leeann is just like perfect really.  You know she is a freak in the sack and she has a perfect body, face, and she loves sports and poker.  That is a very rare combination unless you are dealing with pornstars but Leeann is clean so brownie points for her.  However, tonight reminds me of the female reporters of today because there are so many games tonight that are enticing.  Unfortunately, I can only pick one and that has to be Nuggets (-2.5) @ Pistons....the Pistons are a fucking joke

Pick of the Day: Deepika

I chose this girl for two reasons: she reminded me of an old friend who fell off my bunk at the PKP slay chamber "aka one of John Buell's twins...but not really tho" and she was FHM sexiest woman in the world  2010.  Her name is Deepika Padukone.  This game tonight has to be a trap game because I love it as much as Deepika.  Her name is even sexy Deepika..or (deep-in-ya?) Ok that is enough greed...although GREED is GOOD.  The game is UCONN @ Marquette.  UCONN is receiving 4 points in this matchup and I say they win outright. Thus, I will be taking the money line to receive better odds instead of taking the spread on what Vegas believes the line should be.

Pick of the Day: Brooklyn

Been streaking with the past few Pick of the Days and I think the streak will continue tonight with the college basketball game Notre Dame vs Pitt.  Two Big East teams (although they should both be in the Big 16) and I have to take the points tonight. Notre Dame is the pick.  Brooklyn Decker will make her 1st appearance on FST.  Maxim scouting has her as the #2 hottest woman in the world and that is just clueless analysis in my mind.   Brooklyn is not a dime.  The easiest way to explain the fact she isn't is the amount of time it took to find a Pick of the Day worthy picture of her versus "true" dimes like Adriana and Irina.  A little tidbit of irrelevant info but lucid nevertheless

Sorry but my roommates are taxing me hard with their refusal to call comcast and fix our internet so I had to just pick a girl we have already covered...new pic tho.  Today we will be going with the Steelers and Jets game.  Adriana Lima will be making her fourth appearance today and after today she will have to take a break because she has been peppering the pick of the day and we need some 57 Varieties in our life.  All right bring the track.....Steelers money line is the play

Pick of the Day: Irina

For those of you who thought you were going to see a 10/10 confidence today you were wrong.  It does not exist yet.. However, Irina Shayk is going to make her debut today.  Usually I try to pick a girl that reflects my confidence in the pick.  The hotter the girl, the more confident I am in the pick.  I think today's pick is a pretty much "lock".  Temple @ Xavier....so, I'm saying Irina Shayk is like a 9.89/10 so yeah we like Xavier a lot.

Pretty lucid all year long the top 4 AFC teams VS the NFC.  I didn't put an actual NFC team in there because I didn't think the NFC could win it this year.  However, the Packers will pose the biggest threat to an AFC team.  There was no "ELITE" NFC team they were all pretty mediocre in my opinion and once again if you want lucid information don't go to Bar Stool Sports, just go @FSTscouting.  You get actual results.  Pick of the Day coming back tomorrow with some dime but she has no name...at least i couldn't find it..

Bold Early Prediction: Detroit Lions

Pick #13 Detroit Lions: Nate Solder OT Colorado

...i would never take him there or take him at all but hey the Lions are going to say "hey we need to protect our franchise quarterback".  They are going to see this guy be a freak at the combine and put up ridiculous numbers and he will find his way into the Detroit Lions hands at #13...absolute reach in my eyes

You want FST...you got it

And everything that comes with it. Aladdin quote modified for those of you keeping score at home.  I needed to comment on this year's RB class.  It is the worst I have ever seen.  Last year wasn't great either but at least it had the diamond in the rough (LeGarrette Blount) that FSTscouting loved and ALL 32 teams hated.  Most of you don't know these players but I'll explain it to you..

2011 NFL Draft RB Class
1) Mark Ingram (Alabama)...solid but will be taken too high
2) Ryan Williams (VA Tech)..borderline garbage
3) Mikel Leshoure (Illinois)...wanna be rashard mendenhall but not close
4) Shane Vereen (CAL)...garbage
5) Noel Devine (WVU)..too small KR possibly
6) Demarco Murray (Oklahoma)...perfect fit for Eagles offense (West Coast..only fits in that scheme)
7) Quizz Rodgers (Oregon St)...i want to see more..like his swag
8) Armando Allen (Notre Dame)..solid but not NFL star RB
9) Evan Royster (Penn State)..solid but not NFL star RB
10) Derrick Lock (Kentucky)..never heard of him..supposedly has wheels
....this is a top 10 RB's not FSTscouting ranking of players per se

The point I am trying to make is when there is a great RB class (or any position for that matter) that is "deep" or has a lot of "depth" let's get one of those players...no matter what.  The '08 RB class is the perfect example. Let's get one of these players Detroit Lions!!

..In order of Drafted 2008 NFL Draft (RB's)
1) Darren McFadden RB Arkansas (#4)
2) Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon (#13)
3) Felix Jones RB Arkansas (#22)
4) Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois (#23)
5) Chris Johnson RB ECU  (#24)
6) Matt Forte RB Tulane (#45)
7) Ray Rice RB Rutgers (#55)
8) Kevin Smith RB Central Florida (#64) (Detroit Lions)...."at least he led the NCAAF in rushing maybe he'll be good in the pros" -Detroit Lions fan.  But funny and fitting the Lions took the only BAD RB of this class...Jahvid Best is so much better tho LOL
9) Jamaal Charles RB Texas (#73)....this is the guy you wantED Detroit...whoops
10) Steve Slaton RB WVU (#89)
11) Tashard Choice RB GA Tech (#122)
12) Ryan Torain RB Arizona State (#139)
13) Tim Hightower RB Richmond (#149)
14) Mike Hart RB Michigan (irrelevant)
15) Justin Forsett RB CAL

...this is how much of a laughingstock the Detroit Lions are.  They tried to scout this RB class and the best name they could come up with was the ONLY BAD RB in this whole draft Kevin Smith. A blind monkey could throw a dart and could have done a better job than the Lions did..and the Lions were TRYING to improve the franchise.

So, I guess what I am saying is that the players make the "class" and when you say there is a great RB class that means there are great players in it.  Like I would have said the '08 RB NFL Draft class was a great RB class and look at all of the great players came from that class.  I would say the '04 QB class was a great class and I would also say the '10 Safety class was also a great class...so for future notice when I say a "class" is great you need to get one of those players.  While saying that I have not determined there to be a great "class"...(please be aware I haven't seen any combine or pro day information and we are early in the scouting process).  Some players that would have made the class a great class didn't come out..cough cough Andrew Luck (QB) and Justin Blackmon (WR).  Both of these players could have pushed both of those classes into great "class" territory but since they didn't so there is no great class this year.

...I am slowly building a case against HOF GM Bill Polian and this is the first argument to why he sucks.  His poor logic in not drafting DEFENSE for all of those years caught up with him when he was handed the best RB class of all time and he didn't get one RB..wait Mike Hart but he is irrelevant.  After busting on RB in 2006 with Joseph Addai, he couldn't take RB round one in '08 so it worked out perfect that he had to take RB in 2009 with his 1st round pick.  He dodged the best RB class and if he truly was "so great" he would put his ego and everything aside and go I know I screwed up with Joseph Addai but I promise I will make it up with Ray Rice or Jamaal Charles in round two of the '08 draft. It is a deep class with a bunch of RB's and we NEED one of these guys.  But it worked out beautiful that the '08 class was great and the '09 class sucked (like the '11 RB class) and he reached for a RB in round one and busted!

First Argument to why Bill Polian Sucks: didn't get a RB in 2008!!

...pretty much a typical post will contain FST knowledge, followed by a stat, more FST knowledge, hatred towards non-FST (Bill Polian, etc....kinda like how a Family Guy random joke works), stat, more hate, and a FST conclusion.  That's about all folks.

BCS..or 12 Team NCAAF Playoff?!??

I know I have talked about 8 and 10 team playoffs but the most realistic playoff will end up being a 12 team playoff.  Simple design 11 total "BCS" bowls.

I figured I needed to comment about the situation after the National Championship game.  The system did not do its job.  Yes Auburn was the best team but until there is a playoff a "true" champion will not be crowned. There is still another undefeated college football team that didn't get a chance to prove if they are a better team than Auburn.  A +1 system is nothing more than a remedy to the problem.  TCU received first place votes in both the AP and USA today polls.  TCU director of athletics said this,

"We're going to celebrate the fact that we won the Rose Bowl. But until they get a system that is                   going to be absolutely perfect so they can figure out a way to determine those things, we need to celebrate the system we currently have right now. I'm not going to go through my time with an asterisk: could have, should have, but...No. We're Rose Bowl champions."

A playoff means more money, exposure, helps NFL with scouting [elite talent vs elite talent], and is great for sports fanatics. I will post later this week about the official breakdown and what it should end up being........winner take ALL [but not all] $20 million for the school that wins the National Championship.

A few tidbits on the Colts-Jets Game

It is kind of funny that earlier I said coaching has a minimal impact on a game and BAD coaches like Jim Caldwell can cost teams games.  He first made a clueless (yet irrelevant) first challenge when it was clear as day that the ball didn't touch Santonio Holmes and then the timeout at the end of the game gave the Jets another 15 yards and our victory.  Just unacceptable in my opinion.  I have never thought Jim Caldwell was a good coach and he proved that yet again today.  Our boy Bill Polian has a lot on his hands and my colleague Erik Brekke and I think Peyton Manning should jump ship and join Jim Harbaugh in San Francisco.  The 49ers have the 6th pick and they could add either Patrick Peterson or AJ Green to the lineup..hopefully that is (for their sake).  That team would easily win the putrid NFC West and it is a business. Manning should seriously consider leaving Indianapolis if he is interested in Super Bowl titles.

Isn't their starting QB suspended you dummy??? Coaching is important yes but the players decide the outcome, the coaches only have a minimal impact.  This was Kentucky all day until the QB got suspended...now it should be Pitt by 10+. I did have a pretty good laugh reading that comment though.

Pick of the Day: Carmen

Today is such a lock we had to go with a blast from the past who made a recent appearance on Bar Stool Sports.  Their infamous MFK featured three baywatch babes and of course I had to marry the best one (although she is possibly dirty) Carmen Electra.  Today's lock is LSU vs Texas A & M.  Obviously we are going with our boy PP and the LSU Tigers.

Pick of the Day: LSU (-2.5) vs Texas A & M.........LSU

Stock Tip of the Day: BGP was up 7% in the past two days and it was stock tip of the day on Wednesday....Bar Stool Sports can't touch FST

Pick of the Day confidence: 9/10

Pick of the Day record: 6-7-1

....I'll admit I love Bar Stool sports but I would advise you to flip flop every pick El Presidente makes because every time he has a 'mortal lock' he loses.  Granted we haven't been lucky on our Pick of the day but as you can see in the post below this we are Fo Real in sports handicapping.  P.S. we are streaking on Steve Stricker lower front score over Matt Kuchar...pretty much a 'mortal lock'.

This is my stats from the past three years from ESPN streak for the cash.  These games are essentially spreads as the Lakers-Suns game is one of the games on there and we will most definitely be taking that game tonight. It is not ironic that my best percentages come between the months Sept-Dec....those are football months!! So I guess what I am saying is if you took my bet every day you couldn't lose money (if i pick above 60%).  You can have a cocky and arrogant writing style if you back it up.  The goal is to get the pick of the day percent up above 60% so you can look at a beautiful young lady as you make your bet.

...i've also started using covers.com b/c those are actual spreads so the haters can't say anything when that percent is in the 65-70% range. I'm currently sitting at 12-10 (54%) with the Lakers to improve to 13-10.  I haven't calculated my total percent over the past three years but looking at the numbers I would guess 58%.

....i mean technically 40% of the time i pick above 60% and those numbers added together equals 100%.  That's F$T Scouting for ya!

Pick of the Day: Megan

I think we have some compelling information to make my girl Megan Fox a winner tonight.  Tonight we will be going with LA Lakers over the Phoenix Suns.  When I saw this spread the only thing that scared me was LA played last night and Phoenix is fresh.  However, Phoenix is not a good team so the 4 points the Lakers are giving should be plenty tonight.

Pick of the Day: LA Lakers (-4) @ Phoenix.....LA Lakers

Stock Tip of the Day: Back to the well with Borders (BGP)...trading at $.86 right now.  I don't like Borders because it is a dog with fleas but you can make plenty of money in this stock because it will be trading over a $1 very soon...I suggest hedging the stock at $.86 then at $.75 if it somehow fell that far...but it won't.

Pick of the Day confidence: 8/10

Pick of the Day record: 6-7
