You are better than most teams because you have a great defense and a very good offense. Randy Moss doesn't make you great on offense either, because the O-Line isn't quite there yet. However, Randy fortifies that WR core, but the line is still somewhat of a concern to me.
You have to look at it like a chess match. For every game. What do we do better? How are we going to stop/beat them? Etc. You look at the offense, when playing a top-tier secondary team like NYJ, by having Randy you are taking away a strength of that team and isolating or maybe even making it a weakness. They are relying on that secondary to shut you down. Most average or poor teams, they have no problem shutting them down because A) NYJ defense is also great B) those teams lack WR depth C) there is an island called Revis. Revis shuts down a WR so they would have to choose Wallace or Moss, instead of Wallace. Moss would take up Cromartie and then you have 86, 88, 84, 83 to throw to. Moss just gives you so much flexibility in formations and BA loves his different formations. And then when you play a team then doesn't have a great secondary you just torch 'em.
So when it comes down to winning ball games it is all just matchups. Certain offenses succeed against certain defenses and people are perplexed how it happens. This move makes an already explosive offense, a little more dangerous. I think signing Moss makes the Steelers the Super Bowl favorite in the NFL.
